I’m on vacation, making mindful choices while having a great time!

On my way to the gym this morning for some cardio, my muffler gave out and fell off the car. Luckily, I was able to pull over safely. While waiting for my husband to help, I walked 2 miles around the neighborhood. He quickly removed the muffler, but I didn’t have enough time to hit the gym before work, so I walked another 2 miles with my dog. Proud that I still got my cardio in! The car has been on its last legs for a while.

Another morning I did not feel like getting up, but I pushed through and completed the interval run I had planned. I ran for almost an hour, covering under 4 miles with 2.5-3.5 minute intervals. Managed recovery jogs between sets until the last three, where I walked, so I’m still figuring out my pacing, but that’s alright. I got it done!

After a month and a half of struggling to work out consistently, I finally got back in the gym for the second time this week after a 2.5-week break… and nailed a new one-rep max on front squats, guess what? 52.5kg!

I’m in the second week of a modified routine, and it’s quite challenging, but I’m sticking with it. Given the reps I hit on my heavy sets this week, I am on track to beat my PRs in squat, bench, and deadlift when I test them next.

I returned to the gym after being unwell and making excuses, and I also added two new exercises to keep things exciting. :slightly_smiling_face:

After six weeks of sciatic discomfort, I finally managed to hit a 360lb single on my squat again. Going through an injury was tough, and pushing through the pain only made it worse. Once I took it easy, things started improving. I’m now 7 weeks away from my first international competition.

Last week, I went into beast mode preparing for my 11-mile swim. I covered a total of 30.5km for the week, combining pool and open water swims. That was my highest weekly distance ever.

With just over two weeks left, I have reduced my training volume this week, and I’ll begin tapering on Sunday. I plan to maintain the same frequency and intensity but with less overall volume. I’m super excited for the final stretch!
